Itinerary

St. Mary Magdalene Square – approximately 20 minutes – walk by

Meet your licensed local guide at St. Mary Magdalene Square, at the Piotr Skarga Monument.

The tour begins at St. Mary Magdalene Square. Your guide will introduce the history of Krakow and explain the development of the city as a medieval trading centre and former royal capital.

Collegium Maius – approximately 20 minutes – admission ticket not included

Walk through the historic streets of Krakow Old Town and stop at Collegium Maius, the oldest building of the Jagiellonian University.

Your guide will explain the history of the university and its connection with Krakow's academic history, including Nicolaus Copernicus.

Cloth Hall – approximately 20 minutes – admission ticket not included

Continue to the Main Market Square and the Cloth Hall (Sukiennice).

Your guide will explain the history of the Main Market Square and the role of the Cloth Hall as a historic centre of trade. You will also see the Renaissance arcade and surrounding historic buildings.

St. Mary's Basilica – approximately 30 minutes – admission ticket included

Visit St. Mary's Basilica and see the Veit Stoss altarpiece.

Your guide will explain the history of the basilica, its architecture and the history of the 15th-century altarpiece. The visit also includes the interior of the basilica, including its chapels, painted vaults and stained-glass windows.
